Pedestrian mall in the rain

Work is set to begin at the end of the month on converting this nice pedestrian mall into a road again. Sigh. I think it will be one way with wide sidewalks and possibly free parking spaces for shoppers.

I don't like the idea. It's kind of wild that this little town has a pedestrian mall. Adding cars doesn't help anything. I do hope this yearlong project is able to keep some tables outdoors for the restaurants. When it's nice out, dining outdoors is great.
