Orange Free State
After a long drive we got to the farm in the Orange Free State where we were to spend a few nights.
Breathtaking scenery - both here and on the drive down. A harsh land for the farmers but a very productive one. Parts of the area are wonderfully flat so many crops, maize, potatoes, sunflowers etc were growing well, but then getting closer to Lesotho the hills appear and then the mountains giving a fabulous backdrop.
This small farm has a few animals on it but is really just a retreat for the family and friends from their more hectic lives in the city. It is wonderfully peaceful.
I've seen zebra, gnu, antelope including springbok, oribi, eland as well as the ostriches. There are about 9 horses too, as the farm owners are riders.
We enjoyed sundowners by one of the lakes last night - stunning.
Again, I am way behind with blip commenting - sorry.
I did backblip one for yesterday
