PINEAPPLE EXPRESS

My ORCHIDS & other house plants enjoyed
the steady rain, today. I put them all outside for a good soaking in this “warm rain.”
This ORCHID was a gift a few years ago;
& is blooming for me, again.

It seems, in the last few years, the meteorologists have been very creative
with how they describe severe weather, here. They give names to storms & gussy up their terminology.

Here in California (US) we are in the midst of our 10th
“atmospheric river,” which is a huge storm that dumps massive amounts of rain & snow.

Our recent past storm brought “cold” rain & snow, as it swooped down from Canada.
This storm is called a “Pineapple Express,” because it formed out in the warm waters near Hawaii. It brings “warm rain.”

Here, we have had a steady light rain last night & all day today. North of here there is flooding & evacuations of areas near creeks & rivers.

Another storm is brewing & will arrive next week. It may put an end to our drought.
