Braving The Elements

I fully accept this image may not impress many, but it reflects today's experience.

The first flurries of a storm predicted to yield 6", we shall see. But the big news was the lake unfreezing, sure signs that winter is reaching a finale. There was significant activity: gulls very vocal and at times circling en masse; mergansers in considerable numbers cruising back and forth, diving for food; and a pair of cranes feeding in the wetland, joining in with the chorus.
