Low Level Flying

This swan surprised us this afternoon while we were along the canal towpath. We spotted two swans on the water well ahead of us and were surprised when they took off and flew towards us. It seemed that they had decided to relocate a quarter mile along the water so they just skimmed close to the surface as they passed us. 
Thankfully we still have no snow and could well do without, thank you.
