DAY 6 - HOLY LAND

#Today we went to the MOUNT OF THE BEATITUDES; where Jesus delivered his sermon on the mount. Really crowded by a calm hum could be heard as people talked in hushed voices. Unfortunately lots of tree had been set alight in an attempt to destroy the church.
#Then to The Primacy of Saint Peters …a small chapel built around the rock by the Sea of Galilee.
#had another paddle in the sea.
#then we went to the place of the multiplication. I thought this window design looked interesting …then found out it was from a fire attack….very sad. However strangely the affect looked good….he moves in mysterious ways!!!
In the church was an amazing mosaic floor that was very old.
#this is the 2 fishes and 4 loaves.
#then we had a mass by the Sea of Galilee. It was incredibly moving. The bishop also blessed my New Cross.
Our final stop was CAPERNAUM…a lot of it has been reconstructed and the synagogue was impressive…it was also the site of the miracle of Peter’s mother in law.
Just realised this collage was half the day!!!
We went onto Caesarea Philippi for a baptism (of a lady who had been Buddhist, married a Muslim and now was converting to Christianity)and the renewal of our baptismal vows. We were blessed with water from the source of the Jordan River. A very special experience (although not for one man who has moaned this whole trip )
What a day…back to the hotel for another enormous delicious dinner and evening prayers.
