Incoming Snowball
After an excursion in the snow on the moor yesterday, I headed over to Leeds for an event with E at the Little Bookshop in Chapel Allerton promoting Offcumdens. It carried on snowing all afternoon and evening and we were distinctly worried that no one was going to be able to get there. As it turned out, more people came than had booked. It was a full house, albeit not a very big house. I thoroughly enjoyed myself telling stories and the audience appeared to have a good time too. We sold quite a few books into the bargain.
It carried on snowing during the night and it was still falling lightly this morning. It was a good dumping to enjoy with a walk in the park this afternoon, after saying goodbye to E's good friend, M. She arrived on her bike in a blizzard yesterday afternoon and departed again in the snow this morning to cycle to the station to get a train to Manchester. She made me feel rather inadequate!
