Jigsaw Weather

I finished my latest jigsaw this morning, larger than usual at 1,500 pieces. It really has been jigsaw weather, quite heavy snow flurries most of the day, but it didn’t settle. I only ventured out briefly to walk to the postbox and back, the wind was quite strong and it was really bitter. I did a laptop backup this morning and have been running another from scratch for the rest of the day. I’ve also spoken to one of my sisters and been sorting, shredding and doing admin.

Covid Update
The weekly ONS infection survey of private households up to w/e 28th Feb showed the direction of  infection levels was uncertain across most of the UK, with an estimated 1 in 40 with the virus in England (uncertain); 1 in 40 in Scotland (up); 1 in 45 in Wales (uncertain) and 1 in 75 in NI (uncertain). A spring booster scheme will start in early April for the most vulnerable to be given 6 months after their last jab (those over 75, living in a care home, the immunosuppressed).

Moderna is to build an Innovation and Technology Centre by 2025 at Hartwell, Oxford. The UK has made a commitment to buy Moderna’s vaccines for the next decade. A US Study has found that catching Covid can cause long term gastrointestinal symptoms (sounding like IBS to me) such as constipation, diarrhoea, acid reflux, bloating and stomach pain. Researchers in the US have found that millions of rats living in New York are susceptible to Covid. The study said it’s vital to determine whether wild animals could be infected at scale, to keep track of how the virus might evolve.
