Mull in the making
Another cold, sunny, dry day with high cloud coming in during the afternoon. We have now had two weeks of cold, dry weather with lots of sunshine.
This scene is very typical of North Mull, showing the stepped landscape formed from layers of lava which welled up through fissures in the earth’s crust about 55 million years ago as it became stretched and the Atlantic Ocean was formed. In more recent times, when ice covered the whole country during the last Ice Age, a glacier would have carved out this wide, flat bottomed glen, Glen Bellart.
We had a meal and spent a very pleasant evening with our friends next door and discussed possible future adventures. Much to look forward to.
