Is There a Head in There?

When blue herons get into their scratching and preening, they REALLY get into it. I attempt to focus on the soon-to-show-up eye, but they just stay in there forever. Fun to watch.

I was beginning to be concerned about the lack of birds, so I asked Lisa to google shorebirds and red tide (a current algae problem.) I guess there are 100's of birds in local treatment centers, being treated for symptoms of red tide. It affects their nervous systems, makes them weak. affects their kidneys and makes them appear "drunk." Not good.

In the extras are the same bird posing nicely (IT DOES HAVE A HEAD!), and the takeoff.

Lunch out today at Sonny's BBQ after a trip to Costco, and supper out also (soup and sandwiches) at friends Mike and Cindy's place. Plus, a new card game called Phase 10. (I won't say who won.)
