Kyakers, Iona

As I was waiting for the ferry on the pier at Iona this morning a small group of sea kayakers were playing around off the end of the jetty. They then came ashore for a few minutes and they seemed to me to look like explorers in this amazing little place, dominated as it is by the Abbey.

There was still some mist and low cloud when this was taken around 9.45 but by the time I had left a meeting in the Coastguard office in Fionnphort, just on the other side of the Sound, the sun was shining and it was even getting warm !
