Alms houses

These are in Macclesfield and are now next to a busy road. They wouldn’t have been when they were built. They were built for the poor so I imagine some of them would originally have housed widows of the parish. They would have had to be strong women so I thought I’d mention them on International Women’s Day. I think my daughter-in-laws deserve a mention too. I’m lucky to have them as I have no daughters.
