Noble Innovator

It had been at least a month since I was near the beach. Although I knew about the arrival of the Noble Innovator jack-up rig last month, it was still a surprise when I saw the legs towering over the hill behind Torry Battery. The legs are over two hundred metres high.

The rig is moored in the South Harbour and will be here for a couple of months before heading out to the North Sea. I think a journey towards the South Harbour is required for a closer look.

Despite the constant sunshine, the temperatures are very low, -8 again this morning, and there is still a lot of snow around. The temperature was about -2º when I was at the beach.
