Out on a limb
Something a bit different from me today - I only took a few pictures today because the weather was once again terrible as I moved from one place to the next. I've been wanting to blip this tree for a while, but I've been looking for the right opportunity. It's situated next to the skate park in Edinburgh gardens and is quite heavily laden with shoes. I've been waiting for the leaves to fall to get some good silhouettes under the right conditions. Today probably wasn't the best opportunity I'll have, but I had a few minutes on the way in to work, so thought I may as well look for some good angles. None of them were great but I liked the framing of this one. It didn't stand very well as a photo on its own, but I decided that instead of using one of my 'emergency blip' ideas of stuff that I've got around the house, I'd see whether I could make it more interesting in post processing. The sky was about as ugly as it looks here, so I didn't hang around for long!
I played with the curves a bit and with some trial and error I ended up with about 4 different versions of the same photo. Although it's unashamedly processed, I quite liked it anyway, and it's certainly far away from something that I would normally post. This was done in GIMP (I don't have PS)
The blip title refers to the image style, where the shoes are and where they should be.
In other news, our new sofas arrived tonight. They're amazing, but we now desperately need to sell our old one as we've not got enough seating in our living room for a small army. Maybe we should have a party!?
