An ordinary life....

Starve a fever...

Feed a cold...well that's my excuse for making these visually-not-very-appealing-but-absolutely-delicious chunks of heaven!  :-)

Had a very unsettled night coughing and sneezing and finally fell into a deep sleep just before 7am.  Switched my alarm off and slept till almost 11am!

Head felt a little clearer when I finally got up and the steam in the shower helped further.  Felt much cheerier by the time I made it downstairs (in time for lunch!)

Jordan and Alan headed out for the afternoon in Alan's new car.  Thankfully there were no near collisions with the driveway wall today!

I spent some time in the study planning an acrylic painting.  The background has already been done so I drew the subject using a pastel pencil.  I would love to have started to paint it but it's the largest canvas I've painted on and I just didn't have the energy to concentrate.  Instead I had a play with watercolours and experimented with creating textures.  Good fun and didn't require much thought.

Flurry of texts between myself and Ele and our friend Gail.  Tentative plans for them to come here for lunch a week on Sunday when David and Kenny are in Spain golfing and a date in the diary for dinner at Alan and Gail's at the end of the month and another date at theirs in July.  They are so busy we have to get dates in the diary well in advance.

Since I saw a clip on Insta the other week of a woman making Snickers bites using dates, peanut butter, pecans and melted chocolate, I've been dying to try it and today was the day.

Split the sticky medjool dates, fill with a teaspoon of peanut butter, a couple of toasted pecans then dip in chocolate.  Freeze for an hour then refrigerate.  So easy and I can now confirm, absolutely delicious!  And they do taste like a Snickers, only better!   :-))

D is taking our car to the garage early tomorrow morning to be serviced so I will have to be up, organised and downstairs by 8am to await our Tesco delivery, so on that note it's a lemsip and goodnight from me! :-)
