The waymark

Our walk today started from the priory of Serrabone, an important former staging post on the pilgrim route to Compostela. The climb to the ridge was hard. Overall we walked nine kilometres with 585 metres of ascent. On the way down we were pleased to see this van indicating the route back. For years it has acted as a useful waymark, especially useful today as there has been a lot of forest clearance obliterating some of the path.
