Hooray, Greenfinch!

I filled up the feeders as the first flurries of snow arrived early afternoon and the elder tree was soon full of birds stocking up before the predicted cold night and possible heavy wintry showers.

Tony broke off from his marathon controlling duties on the computer to come and have a look and remarked it was a shame we hadn't had a greenfinch in several years and he had barely disappeared back to the living room when I was sure I spotted a 'newcomer' watching the action on the feeders.  Yay, female greenfinch!  Let's hope she returns and with a mate at some point.  

Not the best blip through the glass but I've been feeling weedy the last couple of days (two tests negative) and opening the window to an icy blast whilst cooling the bedroom at the same time was a no-no.
