On This Day In History
1999: Stanley Kubrick dies

Quote Of The Day
"A film is - or should be - more like music than like fiction. It should be a progression of moods and feelings. The theme, what's behind the emotion, the meaning, all that comes later."
(Stanley Kubrick)

It was a day of R and R - remembrance and retailing. I visited Oaks Crematorium where my mother was cremated, then Portsdown Hall where my brother and I scattered her ashes.

I used the Park And Ride to get to Portsmouth Harbour for the first time ever. After a meal of fish and chips opposite the Historic Dockyard we took a walk around Gunwharf Quays, then caught a bus back to Commercial Road for some shopping.

Tomorrow, there could be snow but perhaps we'll go to a car boot sale. It's been years since I've been to a car boot sale. I hope it goes ahead.
