Looking Up

A sunny but very cold day today. It’s been a while since we had a visit from a Sparrowhawk but this one arrived this morning with a swoop at the hedge. No luck. He sat on the feeder briefly, then adjourned to the Rowan in the back corner of the garden where he sat patiently for several minutes. His second swoop was more successful, and he lived up to his name, making a late breakfast of a House Sparrow.
