Spy Balloon (and Kite Surfer)
MONDAY - Wales
An overnight stay in Denbigh and a morning at the new house in Tremeirchion doing odd jobs and removing the existing wall light fittings in the hall, dining room and living room. We will be replacing the lights and we didn't want the decorator painting round the old ones.
An afternoon trip to Rhyl and a walk on the beach and promenade. By 3:00 pm the temperatures had plummeted and a strong northerly wind had increased the chill factor to a point where four layers, cap and gloves made walking on the seafront just about bearable. I was surprised to see a kite surfer returning to shore after braving the waves (see extra).
A giant blimp was in the process of being installed on the seafront between the Pavilion Theatre and the Travelodge hotel. It's due to start operating next week. According to the website for a modest £20 "Adventurers" will be able to spy on English cities such as Liverpool from 400 ft up in the sky.
An easy target if the tethering cables were to snap the jet stream took you over Scandinavia and northern Russia.
Now safely back home in West Yorkshire
