Macheri in Apokorona

This little village against the big hill in Apokoronou is pictured from a drone many times in the Greek  if not Cretan soap "Sasmos" on television.

Sweetheart loved a drive today so we drove around and enjoyed that lots as he doesn't tour around himself when I'm not here.

We'd planned getting here.... but then I'd taken a wrong road and we ended up here :-)  that gave me this grand view onto the village and it's surroundings at the foot of the hill... and my 85 mm lens worked wonders here! 
We'd decided to move onto Chora Sfakia what's across the mountain range of Levka Ori and on the South Side of the island (some  50 kms from here) 

Sweetheart surprised me to the full when he suggested we'd go to Sfakia, as he doesn't like the folks from there (too much "egoist / egotist" he thinks them) ~ I loved getting there since long again! The tiny village all so QUIET! not a taverna opened, let it be a shop... No beverages to be sold, not a bite either... we found that in Rethimnon and that's fine with us.

The sea at Sfakia and along the South coast was so absolutely beautiful Blue!
