A Self-Made Pet Peeve

I could just toss out my batteries as soon as my electronics decide that 89% power is "dead" ... but it just seems so incredibly wasteful that I have a hard time playing along with that pattern of consumerism. So out comes the battery tester and keeping an eye out for battery-powered devices that are less sensitive such as flashlights. I accumulate far too many batteries for that to be a real solution, so partly-used batteries are an ongoing presence on my desk, which is an annoyance in itself. Just throw them away, right? And waste all that potentially-useful energy...
