It's been a funny sort of day

first EQC arrived to look at land damage - they spent about 3 hours here going over everything. We told them there was a void under the drive, they said they couldn't do anything about that because they couldn't see it.

While they were still here the drill truck arrived, told him there was a void under the drive, he said not to worry, backed up and promptly went through the drive - huge hole right in our entrance, broken concrete, and so on.

Lots of head scratching.

then he decided he might as well try to get up the drive, and managed it, which is great because now he's drilling. that little pipe going into the ground under the truck will decide whether we get to keep our house or not.

We thought that since EQC were still here and the void was now visible they might as well come and look at it - they weren't keen as they'd done their paperwork but my husband can be very persuasive!

Then the drilling rig started drilling - and now one of the guys is ringing the boss to tell him they've smashed the drive. Not their fault but they won't be popular. And it might be some time before we can get into the drive - so it's lucky I put the car out, so I can go to Photography Club tonight!

All in all an interesting day!
