Elf cup

Walking round Furness Abbey I noticed something bright red. It wasnt a piece of fabric as I first thought. It's a fungus Sarcoscypha austriaca ( thank you Google lens) Also know as Scarley cup or Elf cup. I've never seen any before now.

It was in a patch of nettles and surrounded by branches so it wasnt the best to reach so not the best shot.
