Derelict

Hubby left early this morning to help with the monthly breakfast. He got back with my plate close to 11:00 am. He had his meal with the retired priest who now stays at the nursing home. His memory is quickly fading. So glad someone brings him back to see parishioners each month. My sister and I have finalized menu plans for our week away in WV starting Thursday. I put together our to do and grocery lists this morning. My ex-SIL’s funeral is Wednesday late afternoon so we must be packed and ready to go by then. Her brother is now in the hospital with uncontrollable high blood pressure. I believe his youngest sister’s death has been too much for him. He and my children’s father are the last two of five siblings. Very sad. Hubby took our recycling and trash to the convenience center. I went along to get my blip. This junkyard is on the same road. These photos capture just a tiny view of what’s there. The county’s metal recycling center is just down the street and the landfill is on the other side of the road. Not sure we need a third place to store all this junk. Oh well, to each his own. We’ve had a quiet afternoon. I tried to look at all of your journals in case things get too busy in the next few days. Thanks for stopping by recently. Sure hope you had a fun weekend. My knees have already recuperated from my 10,000+ steps yesterday. Yay! Stay safe. “Going to a junkyard is a sobering experience. There you can see the ultimate destination of almost everything we desired.” - Roger von Oech
