On 5 March 1943, the first Gloster Meteor launched from RAF Cranwell, piloted by Michael Daunt. 80 years later, on the same day, I am in the air over RAF Cranwell... You can see College Hall Officers Mess to the right of the cockpit and the main runway ahead.
