Ceramic tile painting

This was in a really fascinating historical exhibition on Hellenism in Asia Minor over the centuries up until the Smyrna disaster and evacuation of 1922 and subsequent population exchange between Greece and Turrkey. I hadn't realised how cultured and educated some of the Greeks in Asia Minor were, how widely they were spread, nor how many hundreds of thousands of Greek refugees flooded into Greece from Asia Minor in 1922.
