Veg

My middle college year was spent in large scale vegetable production (400 acres) and we had 5 Acres of tomatoes followed by winter lettuce. At the time this was a large scale unit 40 years ago and known as one of the best in the country.I learnt a lot and loved it.Helen spent her middle year on one of the best ornamental nurseries in the country. We were both fortunate to get such a good grounding.College did seem a bit behind the times when we returned. As a country we haven't turned out professional horticulturalists for many many years. We have the RHS for the amateur gardeners and very little else.None of us in the industry think much of the RHS.

Anyway I digress. The picture is Cucumber seed.I have spent the day getting some veg seed sown and have started transplanting the first batch of Tomatoes.

Sorted out Dads heating system this evening and had a look at my nieces new Mini Cooper which is beautiful.
Dad is pleased to have the first of his tractors running and I will try and get a picture  of him driving it later this week.

The natural order has returned with Liverpool beating Man Utd by 7 goals to 0.A wonderful day to be a scouser.

Not as grey today and some light rain this evening.A cold snap forecast for next week.
