A quiet moment .....
..... by the tarn.
I had planned on a trip over to Bradford after work this evening but British public transport being what it is meant I would have had to wait 2 hours to catch a train ( it would have taken even longer by bus ), so instead I just went home.
I've still not been feeling 100% today so after eating I decided I needed some fresh air and headed of out without any real plan of where I was going. I found myself up at the tarn just as the sun was setting. It was incredibly quiet up there, I expected to see loads of familys out or at least dog walkers, but there was just me and my camera and lots of wildlife either settling down for the night or waking up.
As I arrived at the tarn there were rabbits scurrying off to hide and ducks flying in to settle down for the evening. A cookoo was making a lot of noise nearby and bats were flitting around the waters edge catching midges and occasionally dipping down and touching the water ( I assume to drink ). As I set off to head back home an owl flew overhead and rested in a tree just a few feet away from me, it's the closest I've been to a wild owl and was a magical moment.
Although not the best quality this photo sums up the feel of my hour up at the tarn this evening, so today's blip is .....
..... A quiet moment by the tarn.
