After a couple of hours of light toil, the rest of the day was notionally given over to dog walking. At least that's what I told them. I knew better. There were trolleys to be found. 

As a byproduct,  the hound was flat on his back from pretty much the time we got in until bed time. 

7 miles from Jack Kane Centre to Craigmillar Castle along the Niddrie Mill Burn and back to the Jewel  As well as trolleys, there was deer.
