just ducky

I saw a lot of ducks today. I guess I saw a lot of geese today and some ducks but I have some funny pictures of the ducks. For the top, make sure you note the expression on the female duck on the right.

While I was in South Africa every single relative on my mother's side of the family got a call from a woman who does genealogy work. She was looking for relatives of my grandfather, including me. I will be contacted by the DOD in two months. My grandfather was MIA in WWII, supposedly fighting in Tunisia. Last year the US and Tunisia made an agreement to exhume and repatriate the remains of thousands of soldiers, and look for identification. Maybe related? 

The IRIS-T SLM system can shoot down Russian missiles. It is one of the most advanced air defense systems. Germany has given Ukraine one and promised four. The second one is coming in weeks. Germany's own air force doesn't have one yet. Apparently the one is wildly effective. Germany is training forty Ukrainian soldiers in its operation. 

The Russian top diplomat, Sergei Lavrov, was at the Raisina Dialogue conference in India. He said that the Ukraine war was launched against them and they were trying to stop it. The audience literally began laughing.
