Living in Brabant

By AilsaR

A horse is a horse is a horse, of course!

Today I cycled to Den Bosch and back. A round trip of about 50km.

I stopped (a lot) along the way, photographed narcissus gazing at his reflection on the water, a human peacock, a cocky cockerel striding across my path, a gate that wanted me for a sunbeam.

A war memorial, at a building which was used by the Germans as a prison camp between 1942-1944.

A church tower. A friendly church cat; ginger with one blue eye, one green. And an extremely bushy tail.

A beautiful old-timer, with weeds growing through its bumper.

A lovingly renovated petrol station.

And this, a horse wearing silk pyjamas.

Oh, and a jazz festival. In Den Bosch.

[On edit, as promised, the rest of the photos.
And here's the human peacock (from another set).

Also on edit, a good friend, and horse owner, has reliably informed me that the silky jammies are in fact a fly rug.
I quote 'He probably gets sweet itch - an allergic reaction to midge bites that causes horses to rub themselves until they have rubbed off all their mane and tail hair.']

Thank goodness for silk jammies.
