Busy day, assignment reviews, discussion group work - different universities! Hair cut and physiotherapy.
Back to setting up new laptop, again...
Huzzah, the speakers are producing a rich, loud sound.  Lovely.
Unplugged the power lead and stone dead.  BIOS dashboard says "no battery detected"
Either:
a) they forgot to put the battery back in or 
b) they forgot to plug it in.
Oh bugger.
Emailed the repair company.
Really don't want to send it back to Scotland, will need to do a factory reset, cos work files. 
Grrr.
