Don't Make Assumptions

The statue of William Penn sits atop City Hall.
Yet from this perspective,
He seems to be residing on the apartment building roof.
Our brain can be so easily "tricked" into faulty assumptions.
I think of the times I misinterpreted a person's remarks,
Only to spend hours in my brain brooding, 
Feeling hurt and resentful.
I think of the times I created a boat load of negative feelings
Thinking about what somebody was thinking about me.
And I want to declare that making assumptions without facts,
Not only leads one down a misguided path,
It is a colossal waste of time!
