Cowra Pavilion
I’m one of the organisers for a Rotary conference for >300 people in 2 weeks so 6 of us travelled out to Cowra (and back) today to make some final arrangements.
This is to be the scene of the action, the Pavilion at Cowra Showground, a fascinating building with a rich history. It’s 80 metres long and constructed in the 1920s as a livestock hall for Cowra show.
Then during WW2 a 6” concrete floor was installed and the building became a munitions factory, the main product being Vickers machine gun parts.
After reverting to a livestock pavilion for 30 years, a beautiful timber floor was added and it’s now a marvellous function centre and events venue.
