The Finish Line …
….. ….. ….. for all of the 3,000 competitors in today’s Biking, Running & Walking sections of the Motatapu - Arrowtown race. Whatever part of today’s events, whether it was competitors, organisers, hangers-on, food&drink stalls - you name it - it was massive. We arrived about the same time as my son-in-law’s brother was finishing his ride right through from the Motatapu, through the Arrow Gorge (see pics yesterday & Wednesday) to finish in Arrowtown. He did fall off but no serious damage - phew! 25 river crossings!
We woke to drizzly rain this morning, which wasn’t helpful for the runners on the Miners Trail - 15kms of mostly narrow steep track. It’s tricky enough when it’s dry! But no serious injuries there either.
Well done to everyone!
