A Room With A View

We were up at just after 3am this morning in time to get to Bristol airport for an early flight to Faro in Portugal. We’re staying in Albufeira in the Algarve for a week and this is the view from the balcony of our hotel, situated in the old town.

We checked in in time for a spot of lunch in the beach bar immediately below us and a stroll along the beach and around some of the old town. 

A late afternoon siesta was needed to freshen up before dinner in a friendly traditional restaurant we’d spotted earlier where we had a very tasty cataplana, a Portuguese stew of potatoes and mixed seafood in a rich paprika and tomato based sauce.

What with a bottle of wine, complimentary port and the early start we were definitely ready for some more sleep.

I’m afraid I’ve got all behind with both posting blips and commenting on everyone else’s but hopefully will have time to catch up in the next few days. We intend to do a lot of chilling!
