Stoney Ground

We have several borders with some nice perennials but full of weeds. The soil is poor and compacted making weeding difficult. 

So we're working on some, double digging, removing some of the large stones adding compost and replanting.  We're just taken delivery of 2 1000L bulk bags, one of mushroom compost and one of horse manure. The roses (and rhubarb *) should do well!

* do you put manure on your rhubarb? No, I prefer custard (old jokes preservation soc.)
