Pondering The Deep And Meaningful
We were feeling at a bit of a loose end today after getting the usual Sunday food shop out of the way early but decided we should get off our backsides and head out for another local photographic safari with, of course, a stop off at our local hostelry for some liquid refreshment if needed.
We thought we should do the image taking part first as once we got settled into some pint based imbibing we may not venture any further to get our shots. So we ambled down to the village and back to the piece of scrubland behind our local community centre where we have been trying to record the environment at different times of year and in contrasting weather and light conditions.
We were again lucky with the light as it changed just as we got there with the sun filtering through the trees and foliage (see the extra) but I was immediately drawn to the patina of this warning sign (it's actually more of a creek than a pond but hey) in my main image - as regular visitors to my journal will know I'm a sucker for signs in all their myriad forms.
Shots taken we headed to The Chequers for our 'well deserved' pints. It was absolutely rammed and we had to sit outside on the terrace, which is thankfully covered and heated at this time of the year. It was so great to see it so busy again after being closed following last year's serious fire.
