Went to evening service ...

But it was a joint service elsewhere this morning.

There was originally a pagan place of worship here and the first church was built here in the 11c. The church in its current form was repaired in the 15c and again in the 18c.

There is some medieval stained glass left nut not much. The church ceilings are Devon traditional cream with wooden arches and decorative bosses. There is one of three hares apparently a fine example!

I always find it very moving and mind blowing to be in old buildings where people have been for centuries, thinking about their lives and how it might have been for them in their time.. And in particular churches where worship through the ages is timeless.
