the present Mr A bought an airfryer - without permission - so I've refused to take any interest in it...

This had been an M&S quiche Lorraine - it was burnt on the outside and uncooked in the middle - quite a feat. (We had tuna sandwiches for lunch).

Apparently he thought he could 'work out how it worked' without reading the instructions - sheesh!
