Sally Mair - Loving life

By Sallymair

Don't overcrowd your car!

Was that a road safety slogan pre seat belt days?
It's hard to believe but it's three full weeks since I left home. Two more days here then it's off on that long drive across country back to Kovalam.
My collage today has an example of 'toilet' humour which I spotted in a local restaurant, plus a street scene.
The latter was taken as I was being driven in Raja's auto. It's a small 4 wheeled truck of a similar size or only slightly larger than the auto. They are regularly frighteningly over crowded with poele and'stiff' and sometimes animals too. Yesterday I saw an auto with two goats in the small parcel shelf behind the passengers! I was too slow to get my phone out! This one has two children at the back complete with their school rucksacks. I'm assuming that they have had to wait to be taken home after school by somebody going back to their village. The four men in the truck look like they have catering equipment with them so may be on their way back from a function. I rather like the couple on the scooter. You'll notice she is sitting side saddle.
I was out for dinner tonight with friends with whom I swapped my half jar of home made marmalade for a jar of home made Lime Pickle, Colin will be pleased although we're still eating the last tub she gave me three years ago.
Back in my room I managed to join our Edinburgh church weekly Zoom Evening Prayer which was nice. Good to see everyone's faces.
My last day in school tomorrow then it will be time to see if the gifts I've been given over the last few days will push my luggage back over my allowance again. :-)
