Oat Cakes

They came to Stockport via Stoke on Trent. Some say that men who fought in India came home wanting to have a flatbread similar to those eaten in India. And so the oatcake was created.

When Jack was a boy his mother would buy them in Stockport market. Now Jack makes his own. They are usually eaten with bacon or egg. I eat them like a pancake with lemon and sugar or honey....delicious!
