Last mill

The remains of one of the mills at Canonmills- you can see the exit of the mill race. Fed by a long lead from the Water of Leith taken from the weir above Dean Bridge. Fed mills along the walkway, at Silvermills and Canonmills and probably for tanneries. ‘Canon’ because land owned by the Augustinian canons at Holyrood Abbey.
