Joe Tree Day

As we left the cafè yesterday we asked the staff where they had purchased the beautiful burr elm wood for the seats and tables and were  recommended Scottish Wood, near Dunfermline.

In our search for a nice piece of wood for a mantleshelf we had actually been there a few years ago but there had been nothing suitable. Nothing daunted, we tried again today, finding a good selection of pieces not unlike the cafè timber, several pieces with an interesting grain and lo and behold!!! a piece of Ash that will suit us very nicely.

I had wondered whether a blip of timber would suffice for Joe Tree Day but, within the showroom is a tree made up of 'plates' of timber - perfect! It is thanks to Joe and his colleagues that Blipfoto exists, with its maxim of Be Excellent To Each Other, and what an inspiration that was, bringing photographs from around the world and forming friendships along the way.
