Down The Gull's Gullet
I'm still missing my Ollie dog terribly, particularly when we have roast chicken. She used to love it. I'd plate up the skin and some scraps with a little gravy for her and the three of us would enjoy the meal together. The following day MrQ would have the rest of the meat for lunch and she'd have the pickings from the carcass.
I used not to feed the birds and the wildlife but since my dog has been gone it gives me a certain comfort. I put the chicken skin out thinking that the magpies and my lovely crow would love it, maybe leaving some for Reynard. What a surprise when this herring gull, which I shot through the window, swooped down and gobbled it up in a trice.
