If you can't beat them...

The Winter Gardens Harrogate

Clickychick's event didn't start until 2:00 this afternoon so we headed into Harrogate in the morning for a look round. Having parked we started our walk with CC looking for coffee as usual.  We passed a few places which for reasons I don't understand were unsuitable.

"Oh, There's the Winter Gardens we will have a look in there!"  By the time we crossed the road she had realised it was a Wetherspoons, "never mind they will sell coffee".  We hadn't realised the grandeur which would greet us inside. With Lavazza coffee at £1:45 a cup and free refill as many times as you like, we sort of took root, admiring the building,  and stayed for lunch.

It seems the winter gardens were built towards the end of the 19th century for bathers from the baths to come and relax in warm comfortable surroundings.
