Sisters
When we were at Charleston with our granddaughter last year, I bought a little booklet Virginia Woolf In St Ives, Cornwall. It is made up of extracts from Virginia Woolf’s novels, diaries and letters interwoven with the artwork of Louisa Amelia Albani. I was very taken with the whole concept and liked the artwork very much. I found that Louisa had an Instagram account and I made a comment there about how much I liked the booklet - she was pleased to get the comment. I then realised that she was working on a similar booklet about the Brontë sisters and Haworth, so I was very interested indeed. She has been posting little sketches and ideas as she works on the booklet and we have had a few exchanges regarding the landscape around Haworth etc. We talked about walking to Top Withins, something she went to do and I have done so many times in the past.
Recently she said she was making one of her drawings available as a limited edition print. I ordered one!
It arrived today and I love it. Just need to get it framed now and await the publication of the booklet.
