A Fungus

Another cold, mostly grey day with occasional showers! I only got wet a couple of times on my walk - fortunately the rain was not heavy.

I did find this fungus growing on a piece of hedgerow. The hedge has recently been massacred by flail carefully trimmed back…. and this stem seemed to be still well attached to the main root underground… so I was surprised to see so much fungus growing on it!

My ‘boots on' miles total this year has now reached 194 - an average of 3.3 miles per day…I am attempting, again, to complete 1000 miles in a year…which requires just 2.74 miles per day..so I am well on track for that! However, something can easily scupper those plans as I have found with significant health setbacks in both 2021 and 2022.
