Town Hall Photographer’s Collection

I’d seen this exhibition in the central library advertised a few weeks back. Realised that if I didn’t get there today it wasn’t going to happen, so a quick trip into Manchester this morning.

The photos were taken (mainly in the 1950s and 60s) by photographers employed by the council. Not sure what they would make of the large prints now being displayed in a gallery setting! I found it interesting, from the perspective of local history and as a local government employee!
